Nice and flat cycling. Good speed - tail wind. Huge windmill construction site along the way. Coast full of industry, not good for camping. Almost lost an eye setting up my tent in the dark -- oops.

Nothing spectacular about riding on the D550 into Izmir from North. Few nice parks/pic nic areas and cycling paths closer to Izmir though. Often smallish/dirty shoulder. 2 Flats (40+thorns in front, 50+ in back). Kemal stops to help. Hostel time.

Staying in Izmir for another 2 nights with Selman. Met another cyclist, Mehmet, during my ride along the coast today who invited me to a cafe closeby to meet his friends.

Some chain maintenance and a visit to Decathlon.

following the 3551/3553 to Ozdere. would've been nice to camp in the mountain range on the way but I didn't have enough water/food with me. Flat #16 on the way

cycled along the coast. beaches still quite busy, especially in the cities. guess because of Sunday. shower options on the beaches (some are broken/disabled) but I found a working one :)

first break after only 13k. drizzling rain. Hungry and legs are tired. hilly stretch. no couchsurfing in Bodrum to find, so I'm just camping outside of the city tonight.

Early arrival in Bodrum. Hotel room for 70TL (still no CS). Rainy day, I'm lucky not to be cycling more today!

Chill rest day in Bodrum. Chat with another cyclist, Lucas from France, who is heading to Istanbul.

Ferry to Datça at 9am (60TL). I'm freezing at temperatures around 10°C. Beautiful ride with some scenic views and a good bit of wind from all sides, only few cars on the road.

Exploring the peninsula a bit more. Probably most scenic part of Turkey--so far!

Time to move on. Heading towards Marmaris. No CS/WS so another camping night. 960 m elevation and some steep climbs

really cold morning, don't wanna get out of my tent. have trouble finding a place at night and set up camp in muddy lemon field. ugh. ride was "nice" though

same cold same cold. nice ride via Gocek (?) mountain (Gocek tunnel not accessible for cyclists). Couchsurfing with Ahmet in Fethiye. Fresh fish dinner, yum!

friend from Istanbul joined me cycling. to Ölüdeniz. Too demanding to continue along the coast so we went back to follow D400

surprisingly demanding leg to Kas. killed our legs. head winds and some inclines. camping near amphitheater.

Chill day in Kas. I'm staying another night.

Invited for a Cay by a local who wanted to sell my jewelry for "good luck". Didn't buy and had a flat 30 minutes later. and another one 10 minutes after.

bad spell still going: woke up to 2 flat tires. meet Romanian cyclist on the way, breakfast together. reach Antalya at 17:00 where my host has a little house party

Heading to Istanbul too visit my friends there
