It isn't until I'm on the train to Krakow when I realize, how close the former German concentration camp of Auschwitz actually is. With the museum being open all year long even in Corona times, I don't need to think twice and decide for a detour via the small town.
Much has been written about the camps, and nothing I write would do it justice by any means. Hence I will leave it at a few photos I took and a recommendation for any visitor to reserve at least 2 full days for the visit, as even the standard 3.5 hours long guided tour may feel a bit rushed and doesn't give you a lot time to process it all.
