Day 4
At 5:30 it's bright outside, and so it is in my tent :|. I guess that
means I should get up? I do, hesitantly and talk to a French couple in
their 60s from Dijon, who are cycling around for 3 weeks, about 1000 km
in total. They offer me coffee which I happily accept. I'm surprised
how quickly my French language memory comes back. Another month and I'm
fluent again!
The 2 German motorcyclists from NRW (Bandit 650 and Tiger XC) in the
neighboring tent pass down my offer to join me and carry my luggage --
they only have 1 week for their trip.
The camping is situated along a noisy road and a high speed train track but I have spontaeously decided to stay here for another night to relax and chill. If the muscle ache in my upper thighs was a contributing factor? Maybe! ;)
Day 5
It's freezing outside. Well, not actually freezing, but getting up is
extra difficult when the (Google) thermometer shows 8 celsius and the
sleeping bag is super cozy!!
I'm not sure yet how far I will go today when I am heading to Saverne.
Via Wasselone I reach Molsheim which has a large and busy camping site.
Conveniently enough it also provides free access to the ajacent public
pool.
When setting up my tent however I'm all of the sudden attacked by a swarm of 20-30 mosquitos so I quickly dress up in long pants and hoodie to avoid being eaten alive.
I'm so tired I fall asleep despite the hiphop concert next door
Km clocked up: 50
Blood loss by mosquitos bites: ~1 litre (maybe less)
